Dolphin Sands B&B
Dolphin Sands homestay B&B is on the beach just south of Ballito, half-an-hour's drive
north of Durban. This highly recommended accommodation is in a quiet cul-de-sac, where
the sound of the surf will help you relax in the day and sleep soundly at night.
The golden sandy beach is usually as deserted as it is in the picture. Even at weekends,
you will feel as if you are on a private beach. And because we do not cater for
under-12s, you can be sure of peace and tranquillity.
Dolphins swim past every day, and many of our guests thrill to the sight of these
spectacular creatures while enjoying home-cooked breakfast on the patio or lounging
on the sun deck over the beach.
Guests also take great delight in whale spotting from June through December. The
antics of southern-right and humpback whales are something to behold, and guests
see more and more of these huge animals every year.
Accommodation
Dolphin Sands has three guest bedrooms. One has a queen-size, extra-length bed and
en-suite bathroom. Two have two single beds each and a private bathroom. All three
have air-conditioning, ceiling fans, bar fridge and tea/coffee-making facilities.
All three bedrooms are upstairs and have breathtaking views over the Indian
Ocean. Guests really do gasp when they see the view for the first time!
Shops and restaurants
There are several good restaurants in Ballito (8 km away) and Umdloti. Just a short
drive away is the Sea Belle, which is famous for its curries. The Lifestyle Shopping
Centre is nearby and has banks, a Spar store, restaurants, souvenirs, and more.
