Manor on the Bay
Manor on the Bay Guest House was built in 1862 and used as a summer residence by the famous Beit-family from Ireland. Today, it offers visitors a unique character, lovely ambiance and friendly hosts who are there to ensure you have a most comfortable stay. The owners, Schalk and Hanel van Reenen invite you to come and experience South African hospitality and enjoy their beautiful manor with its Oregon floors, high ceilings, magnificent unsurpassed mountain and sea-views and its prime situation overlooking the white sandy beaches of Gordon’s Bay.

Restful luxury
There are twelve spacious and uniquely decorated bedrooms with en suite shower/or baths to choose from. All rooms have modern conveniences such as safes, computer links, hairdryers, mini-bars television with M-Net and Satellite connection, air-conditioning and some have fireplaces. Extra luxuries include free wireless internet connection, toiletries, pure cotton linen, gowns, pool towels and laundry services.
Breakfast is served at the swimming pool or in the dining room. There are also quality restaurants within walking distance and in the surrounding area. Manor on the Bay offers traditional braais and a rich array of South African & Mediteranean cuisine on request.

A menu of activities
There is any number of activities to enjoy in and around Gordon’s Bay. Over 15t op class golf courses ( within 10 – 80km drive), hiking trails, shopping malls and more white beaches are all easily accessible to the visitor. For the active minded, horse-riding, scuba-diving, deep sea fishing trips, canoeing, paddling, surfskiing, rock climbing, cliff diving and abseiling are all just a stone’s throw away.

For those looking for a romantic weekend, picnic-baskets and sunset cruises can be arranged on request, or visitors can enjoy scenic drives along the coast or a tour of the 22 wine farms in the Helderberg area. Further afield Stellenbosch and Cape Town beg exploring and offer all the luxury of hot air balloon flights or helicopter flights over the winelands, as well as a trout and fly-fishing experiences.
Whale watching is possible from the patio of Manor on the Bay between the months of August and November.
